11 Amazing Tips for Being Healthy & Happy At The Same Time

  1. Eat Local Think Global

The mantra to “Eat local and think global”, is a sure shot way of being healthy in a true sense. Now, what I mean, when I say local is to eat food items that are grown in your region. Rather than going to a classy supermarket and buying alien fruits and vegetables that are not fresh, zero nutritional value and worst is you can’t even pronounce many of them.

Think logically here, the food which is alien to the soil has to travel to reach your supermarkets than to your table. Yes, your food also travels, even when you buy stuff, you don’t use or cook it the same day.

Now let’s come to economics a bit, we really need to brush up our concepts. The food which comes from other country or region needs to travel; more preservatives are added to such items. We have to pay more to get that stuff into our boundaries, transportation, and fuel cost, manpower all goes into it. We create pollution out of it, lose our GDP, even after that the food you get is not even fresh or nutritious, so what’s the catch in this.

Our focus is being healthy but at what cost?

For being healthy and fit, we need healthy food, which is fresh has nutritional value in it, comes with a reasonable cost and also easily available. Always remember and this especially goes to the younger folk, what you eat is the only biggest factor in your health and weight.  The famous Bollywood Dietician, Rujuta Diwakar mostly known for the Kareena Kapoor Khan’s “Zero Size” Figure in Tashan, emphasizes on eating Indian local food.Always remember being healthy never goes out of fashion. It’s something that is always in and will be.

  1. Be a Smart Consumer

Person Reading Nutrition Label on Packaged Food

For being healthy in a world of variety, it is essential for a consumer to be smart and proactive. By saying smart consumer, I mean someone who prefers local food than western; checks food labels, says a big no to processed food and sugary juices or let me put it this way. One who thinks zillions time before consuming anything that comes out from a packet. Since most of these items contain the excess of salt and sugar in them with lots of harmful preservatives and with zero nutritional value. If you want to testify the same, cut your soda intake, and watch your weight drop drastically. Being healthy is the smart choice which only smart consumers make. Be one.

We all are educated, smart, and we pay taxes then how can we become so irresponsible with our basic needs. Be a smart consumer; check your food labels.  Always check sugar and sodium quantities. For a healthy life, you need to develop healthy habits, by making smart choices.

  1. Spend Time with Yourself

Time for me

In this 4G life, we really need to tap into the technology within. Have a gadget-free hour for yourself. Walk in nature, do nothing, and just be you. It gives you a change and a different energy to your body, mind, and spirit. Feel energized into your skin and just be awesome. Be you by being healthy in your body.

  1. Cut on Social Media

I know google is fancy and knows it all, but still, there are questions which google cannot answer. And, for those time we need to fall back on who we truly are. Right. We need to reconnect or tune-in with our own self to get to those answers.

I know it sounds like a hard one in the entire list but you need this more than ever. We all are so much occupied by the digital platforms that we don’t even realize what is happening around us in the real world. We ignore what is in front of us. Our mind is constantly working on something which needs a break. If we really want to connect with our real self, then we need to put a halt on external factors for a while. Simple get away from all forms of connectivity stuff and reach out to nature and enjoy the no connectivity zone.

  1. Plan Your Workouts and Meals In Advance

This one goes for all newbies, seasoned, and experienced procrastinator. Plan your workout and meals in advance, so that you don’t come up with any excuse. Backed by scientific research, we only need to workout 150mintues a week, which means less than 30 minutes a day.

We all can do this much to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

But are we doing it lately?

  1. Reconnect with That State of Happiness

In today’s day and age, we all are busy doing something we really don’t like, not all of them but yes most of them are stuck in 9 to 5 trap, clocking in and out, family responsibilities, deadlines, social media presence all are taking a toll on us.

Give a pause.  PERIOD

You need to give yourself “Me Time” and do what truly make sense to you, even it is complete nonsense. If it makes you happy like a child, go for it.

And, if you don’t really know what you need then you must enjoy “The sweetness of doing nothing” in Italian it is known as “Dolce Far Niente”. I love Italian; I think it is the most seducing language out of all. Being healthy is the only way to reconnect with your state of being that is eternally happy.

Love urself

I know making a change is hard and it’s easier said than done for a full timer, with a baby, daily life’s pressure and so on and so forth. Sure you all are busy my friends, you really got no time for it. I get it.

I always say when time is a constraint, start small, and make a list, little tiny tweaks that make your zany, it could be as little as smelling the roses, or writing your lover a small note.

It could be anything.

And, when you’re ready with it start implying each thing once a week in your life. Being healthy not only counts the healthy body but our relationships too.

Try that for once, you’ll be amazed, how little things can spark up your life and energy levels.

  1. Morning Rituals

Have you ever pondered, if one thing goes wrong the entire day goes nut and vice versa? To tune in the energy, we must do something that turbo-charges us.

Like I do, I hug my mother every morning; it comes from my heart and she means everything to me.

Love is the biggest source of energy you can connect with. Find what works for you and do it.

It could be anything a song, a picture, a quote that truly inspires you and fills you up with boundless energy.

I would love to hear about your rituals do comment below. Morning rituals are a must for being healthy, wealthy and everything that makes sense to you in this wonderland.

  1. Stop Screwing Yourself

For goodness sake don’t seduce yourself into the self-sabotaging story that you tell yourself every other moment. I don’t have money, good education, spouse, a well-paid and satisfying job, and no resources, skills for so and so reasons. Don’t let fear into your gut and dominate your outcomes. I am telling you from my experience, it gives you nothing and it leaves you with nothing. Focus on what’s good in every situation and if it’s not, find good and if in the worst case you don’t find any good, do something good.

  1. Do Something New

Learn something new everyday

Do something different, no I am not asking you to find 10 new different ways to screw yourself for nothing. All I mean is to see your routine things in a new light. Like take a different route to your office, see new people and places, you might meet someone new!

Have you done something new lately for being healthy? Share with me.

  1. Be Your Own Inspiration – Parent Yourself

When we start any of our diet or healthy eating regime, initially we are very passionate about it but after a week or so there comes a time, we start missing out on our tracks. Sometimes life happens and knocks you off the track, so what. Sure we goof up, and we start to sabotage our self for doing so. We do such a negative conversation with our self that it never allows us to start back again.

I know how it feels like, I have been there, trust me; I know it’s not a good place to be in. So what works best is to every time you get stuck, not only in your regimes but also in real life situations. Tell yourself, its ok, we all goof up at sometimes, and that’s ok, I will start again. You’re not late for it; this is the second best time to commit yourself and March ahead.  For a healthy life, we need to have a health conversation too. What inspires you do leave a comment below?
